The aims of the Society are to promote and foster amateur radio activities within the Royal Air Force and through Amateur Radio, to maintain and foster the close bonds that exist between radio amateurs serving in the Royal Air Force and those who have retired from, or have close links with, the Royal Air Force

All Radio Amateurs (no requirement to be Ex-RAF) are invited to apply for Membership if you have an interest in the RAF, Military aviation and wish to support the aims of the society

The Member Area is exclusive to current RAFARS members who have registered to use this section of the website

Passwords are sent by email on request, via the registration form under the Member Area menu at the top of the page

Items in the Member Area include an electronic version of the RAFARS Journal 'QRV', a searchable member list with callsigns and details of the RAFARS Zoom Net.
Friday Members’ Zoom at 2.00pm
Join fellow members of the Royal Air Force Amateur Radio Society (RAFARS) each Friday at 2.00pm for an informal online get-together via Zoom.
Zoom is a simple online meeting platform, you can join from a computer, tablet or smartphone, with video or just audio.
The Zoom link is available in the Members’ Area of this website.

RAFARS eQRV Journal

There are over 130 editions of the RAFARS Journal QRV in the Member Area dating back to 1937.

Is Your Subscription Payment Up to Date?

RAFARS subscription fees changed on 1st April 2026. Many members are still paying the old amount, some are paying both the old and new amounts, and some have not yet paid their 2026–2027 subscription.

If you pay by Standing Order (SO), RAFARS cannot change the payment amount for you. You must either amend the Standing Order yourself or cancel it and set up a new one for the correct amount.
