RAFARS CALLSIGNS AVAILABLE FOR MEMBERS USE

An agreement with Ofcom means that current RAFARS members with a full licence may use our unallocated Club callsigns from various locations. The agreement means that all you have to do is contact me with your callsign, RAFARS number, date and location. Then when you have finished your activation just send me a log of your contacts. I can then upload the log to qrz.com and eqsl.cc. Envelopes are already lodged with the RSGB and will come to me; if you send me a SSAE I will then forward them to you. The callsign activator will be responsible for out going cards but as RAFARS is affiliated to the RSGB the unallocated calls have been registered as secondary callsigns so they may be sent via the bureau. You do not have to use paper cards as I can put this on the call QRZ page. However, if you do wish to have some cards, I have some available at cost and can let you purchase some in small quantities for £12 per 100 cards (50min.) including postage.

I used GX7RAF last September during Battle of Britain month and it proved very popular.
Hopefully, this September to commemorate the Battle of Britain month we can get as many RAFARS callsigns on the air as possible. Perhaps also some of our overseas calls? To do this I will need some “volunteers”! Let me know if you would like to give it a try. A week, a weekend even just a day drop me an email. Preference will always be given to the current licence holders, but then I will allocate the calls usage on a first come, first serve basis.
The calls may be requested at any time not just for September. As they are Club callsigns they have the same usage rules as a SES. Unlicensed guests could be allowed on the mic to give greetings messages and for training etc. Supervised of course!
