RAFARS Evening HF Net Trial

Due to very poor comm on 80m (3715KHz) we trialled moving the usual evening RAFARS Net start from 18:30 to 20:00 and found a good HF lift. We also tried 21:00 but it became very noisy. Thus, as from tonight, I have request Net Controllers operate a short Net at 18:30 followed up with a longer Net from 20:00. for the rest of this week. If acceptable, this will be followed by just operating the later net at 20:00Hrs next week (starting 16th June) and see how it goes. We may consider moving a further hour to 20:00 later (21:00) later in the season, to suit the propagation conditions. We also looked at a move to 40m, but on our trials it was packed out. This may change and I feel we need to adapt to what work best for easy, enjoyable nets. Presently the evening net is a battle to be heard.
