I would like to inform you about the special radioamateur station OL75CLAY. This station celebrates the 75th anniversary of the dropping the CLAY paratroops in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia during the WWII, known as Operation Clay.
This paratroops, like many others, were trained in Britain by SOE and then sent to
occupied Czechoslovakia. So, I suppose that special stations like this may interest
British radioamateurs, specially those interested in WWII military history.
The paratroops CLAY used radiostation with cover name EVA and they kept regular contacts with the Military Radio Central (VRU) in London. By this special station we want to remember even this radio operations.
We want to start our transmission on Friday 12th April 2019, late afternoon, from the very place where the group was dropped in 1944.
We suppose to use mostly CW, but also SSB, mainly on 7 and 14 MHz, due to propagation.
We also want to demonstrate the amateur radio for the present public and so we would very much appreciate as much as possible QSOs with UK amateurs, to remember the QSOs of CLAY group.
Please, can you inform your members about this event, we thank in advance very much to all those
who will try to contact us specially on this day.
OL75CLAY will be active till 31.July 2019, we hope for more contacts as well.
Thank you very much for your kind attention to my letter, we are looking forward to many contacts with all radioamateurs.
Best regards, 73,
