Special Radioamateur Station OL75CARBON

Dear friends,

I would like to inform you about the special radioamateur station OL75CARBON. This station celebrates the 75th anniversary of the dropping the CARBON paratroops in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia during the WWII, known as Operation Carbon. Earlier this year we were activating OL75CLAY station, commemorating the Clay group, so many of hams had chance to make a QSO.

This paratroops, like many others, were trained in Britain by SOE and then sent to the occupied Czechoslovakia. So, I suppose that special stations like this may interest British radioamateurs, specially those interested in WWII military history.

The paratroops CARBON used radiostation  with cover name Jarmila and they kept regular contacts with the Military Radio Central (VRU) in London. By this special station we want to remember even this radio operations.

We want to start our transmission on 5th September 2019. We suppose to use mostly CW, but also SSB and perhaps also DIGI on all HF bands, due to propagation. We are sending a special paper QSL card for every first QSO, regadless of band or mode, via bureau. Those not using bureau can send SASE to our QSL manager, OK2PXJ. We highly appreciate also any SWL reports via OK2PXJ or via email. Please, can you inform your members about this event, we thank in advance very much to all those who will try to contact us.

OL75CARBON will be active till 30th November 2019, we hope for more contacts with all radioamateurs.

For more information please visit our QRZ.com web page.

Thank you very much for your kind attention to my letter, we are looking forward to many contacts with all radioamateurs.

Best regards, 73,
Pavel, OK2BMA
