RAFARS attended the RAF Cosford Airshow on Sunday 10th July 2018.  A very early start resulted in almost no delay on arrival at the site in spite of the police vehicles using the narrow one-way entry road in the opposite direction to everybody else.  The RAFARS stand was located in an ideal spot near one of the doors in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) hangar.

Displays included the sign-in and commodities table, SDR receiver and aircraft tracking display, radios through the ages from WW2 to the current day and an excellent supporting display of balloon tracking by the Shropshire Linux User Group (SLUG).

The RAFARS stand generated a great deal of interest from members, aviation enthusiasts and family groups alike.  It was a really emjoyable day and very nice to meet so many people.

The SSES station GB100RAF was operational throughout the day and was in great demand with many QSO's being achieved.

Departing the site at 19:00hrs was a bit of a challenge due to the volume of traffic and a road traffic accident between the site and the M54.
